Music, movement and dance have been used in the Orient for sick people since the 9th century as an auxiliary discipline of medicine. The roots of oriental music therapy extend from the Anatolian hospitals to the shamans of the Central Asian steppes. In the 70s of the last century. the psychologist, musician, music therapist and Sufi-Master Dr. Oruç Güvenç gave new life to traditional oriental music therapy with extensive historical material and spread it throughout Europe. After many years it is now possible again to learn this form of traditional therapy in Austria.
3 Years Study Program
- The Education is an Online & In-Person Program
- The Duration of the program is 6 semesters (the academic year begins in January and ends in December)
- Language English / Deutsch
- Our training program does not qualify participants to use the professional title "Music Therapist" in Austria. This is a non-state-authorized continuing education program without a recognized official qualification. In Austria, the profession of Music Therapist can only be taught and authorized by state-approved training institutions.
The Structure of the Program
Private Instrument Lessons
You will get a personal Teacher for the Instruments you want to learn. You have each Month private Units with your Teacher. This meetings can happen online or in Person.
E-Learning Plattform
Our e-learning section provides the framework of the program. You'll receive videos, workbooks, sheet music, and instruction material to help you grow your knwoledge about Oriental Musictherapy.
Monthly group meetings
In monthly live calls, we want to offer intense group interaction, sharing progress and answer urgent questions.
4 Days Spring Camp
(in Person)
In each year there is a 4 days in Person Event in the spring-time , which will be with all teachers and Students. ( This Intensive is necessary for practicing music together and learn the therapeutic settings.)

In Autumn we have our second Intensive Camp. A 4 days in Person coming together in a beautiful place to share our progress and dive deeper in the world of Oriental Musictherapy.

Ilyas and his Team
G.lyas Klawatsch is a traditional oriental Musictherapist and comes from a lineage of 6 Tarikats (Lineages) of Sufism. He spent 23 years with Master Dr. Rahmi Oruç Güvenç. Ilyas maintains a non-dogmatic, free and tolerant approach to Sufism and Musictherapy. He works as Musictherapiest with neurological ill children and cancer Patients.
Ignacio Musa Beyar make musictherapy with Sufi Music. Is composer , Multi Instrumentalist and international musician,
Roman Murad Buder is a sculptor, musician, and music therapist. He studied with Rahmi Oruc Güvenc, Neyzen Ömer Erdugdular, and his master Niyazi Sayin.
Davood Saharkhiz is an in Austria living Iranian musician. He plays and teach Setar, Tanbur and Daf.
